Splash for Trash 2022
The fourth-annual Splash for Trash, hosted by Greenville Noon Rotary, drew nearly 100 volunteers to Town Common on Saturday, July 30 to assist in cleanup efforts along the Tar River. The majority of trash collected consisted of plastic and glass bottles; other items removed from the river include building materials, household electronics, numerous tires, and part of a dock. Litter was collected in reusable mesh and compostable bags, and plastics will be processed by Greenville-based Restoring Another Waterway (RAW) who recycle discarded plastics into new products.
