Abstract: In this color postcard, a French nurse kneels on the ground, looking skyward, and prays that there will be few wounded French troops arriving by ambulance. She is in the foreground of the scene, wearing a long gray dress, with white sleeves, a white collar and white cornette. On her left arm is a white armband with a red cross. Behind her is a tent flying a flag with a red cross. At the top of the card is a black and white battle scene.
