Community health worker, Venuste, tests a community member for malaria
Venuste Twagirayeza works with a community of over 300 residents. His primary role is to distribute and educate community members on bed nets. He also conducts rapid diagnostic tests and treats case mild infections.
Tests and medicines are available to frontline health workers through supply commodity procurement and supply chain efforts made possible by USAID and PMI. Health workers can record malaria cases and provide treatment or a referral to health services in severe cases.
