U.S. Marines with Combat Assault Company, 3rd Marine Regiment drive an assault amphibious vehicle (AAV) through the salvage yard wetland at Marine Corps Base Hawaii Feb. 19, 2014.
The company?s Marines teamed with the base environmental office each year to tear up the mud within the Nuupia Pond Wildlife Management Area and wetlands to help preserve the living conditions of wildlife in the areas. The three-day effort also enabled Marines to practice enhanced maneuvering skills while driving AAVs. (DoD photo by Lance Cpl. Matthew Bragg, U.S. Marine Corps/Released).
