Today's plan was to check out Beaumaris Castle, but after yesterday we were both knackered so we stayed a bit more local.
Every time we get the train to the Blackpool Airshow we pass through St. Helen's Central and say "we really must visit the glass museum". So we did.
It was ace, and as I haven't been since I was about ten I really enjoyed it.
I was armed only with my mobile phone, so today's photo is actually taken inside the entrance, which is via a conical furnace chimney.
These were used to aid the transition from wood to coal burning and allow different processes to be carried at different levels.
It's interesting on this one, which has been glazed, that you could see the formation of some kind of growth on the path where the sunlight sweeps through the gap.
