Joshua Tree National Park
Joshua Tree National Park is an immense wilderness, protecting nearly 800,000 acres of the California desert. The park is home to exposed granite monoliths, rugged canyons and extensive stands of the Joshua tree -- the peculiar looking plant that is the park’s namesake. Sunsets are pretty spectacular here too. Photo by Brad Sutton, National Park Service. Original public domain image from Flickr
