Want to camp at Joshua Tree National Park but don’t have a reservation?
Consider dispersed camping on BLM-managed public lands outside the park. This site, located on the south side of Joshua Tree off I-10 provides access to Joshua Tree and the Mecca Hills Wilderness. In fact, you might want to consider exploring slot canyons and washes of Mecca Hills! You'll still need to plan ahead - dispersed camping on BLM land means there aren't any facilities (like bathrooms or picnic tables), so bring extra water, sunscreen and please remember, if you pack it in, pack it out.
