Researchers have published a paper about an improved dynamic hydride vapor- phase epitaxy (D-HVPE) process, producing high-efficient multijunction solar cells using materials that were previously considered too expensive to use anywhere but space.
With the reduction of manufacturing cost, D-HVPE, III-V solar cells could potentially enter markets where their highly efficient ability to convert sunlight into electricity would prove desirable and competitive.
