Production. Tin smelting. Pure tin in the form of "bars" is removed from the molds at a Southern smelter. The bars had previously been scrapped and trimmed to remove all excess metal for remelting. The smelter, the most modern in the world, extracts pure metal from South American ore. Sourced from the Library of Congress.
