Production. 105 millimeter shells. In a Midwest foundry where plumbing fixtures were formerly processed, hot billets, soon to become shells, are rolled from a butane gas furnace by a water cooled hook. The red-hot billets will next be transferred to hydraulic presses for further processing (Manitowac Shipyards). Sourced from the Library of Congress.
