The Drayton Hall, the last of eighteeen similar Georgian homes which were burned after the War of the States by Union. Near Sumerville, South Carolina. This house was saved because it housed patriots ill with smallpox and the troops dared not enter the grounds for fear of their own health. It was built in about 1740 and represents Georgian architecture. Sourced from the Library of Congress.
