For the previous photo and this shot of a Cathay Pacific airliner coming in to land at Kai Tak, I climbed part way up the perimeter fence near Prince Edward Road. To do something like that at a major international airport today would probably result in sirens blaring and armed police arriving at the scene within minutes
For the residents of Kowloon's Kowloon City district, the sight of jumbo jets coming in to land or taking off was at least as common on the streets as the sight of buses are for those people living in other similar densely-populated urban areas.
